Dr. George Lowenstein kicked off the American Avalanche Association’s 2020 online seminar series with a talk entitled, “Behavioral Economics and Avalanche Decision Making” on Thursday, November 5. Dr. Lowenstein is the Herbert A. Simon Professor of Psychology and Economics at Carnegie Mellon University. One of the founders of the field of Behavioral Economics, Dr. Lowenstein discussed how we can use insights from that field to make better decisions in avalanche country.
