A3 seeks to further research related to snow and avalanche professionals. Please respond if you meet the criteria for this ATES research, and feel free to pass along to others who do, as well.
A3 members are likely familiar with the concepts of simple, challenging, and complex terrain. Dr. Jordy Hendrikx, Director of the Snow & Avalanche Lab in the Department of Earth Sciences at Montana State University, is working with a group in Norway (NVE) and Canada (Parks Canada and SFU) on a project to update and expand the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES).
As part of that work, they are reviewing the color coding of the spatial ATES product and are seeking feedback from folks familiar with the scale. This means you! It only takes a few minutes. Just click the link and you’ll be helping the survey team in their important work.
