What
Join NWAC for a virtual workshop facilitated by over 20 female-identifying professionals nationwide from a range of snow and avalanche professions including guides, forecasters, ski patrol, educators, and non-profit staff. The event will feature a panel discussion, presentations, and breakout sessions divided by career interest.
Panel: Representatives from industry sectors including educators, ski patrol, mountain guides, and forecasters will speak to their experience in the industry and give an overview of the different possible tracks.
Breakout Rooms: Participants will be pre-assigned breakout rooms with 4-6 participants and 1-2 facilitators based on their indicated preferences and geography. For example if you are interested in avalanche forecasting in Colorado we will do our best to pair you with a Colorado based forecaster. Each breakout room will last approximately 45min – 1 hour.
Group Activity: Participants will have the opportunity to report out on their breakout rooms and engage with other participants outside their breakout rooms.

Who
This professional workshop is open to any female-identifying or non-binary person either working in or interested in working in the snow and avalanche industries no matter the stage in your career. The snow and avalanche industries is defined as a person who works in avalanche mitigation or avoidance including ski patrol, mountain guides, avalanche educators, etc.
This program is not meant for those working or interested in volunteer roles (SAR, volunteer patrol, volunteer education organizations) or outdoor industry roles outside of avalanche mitigation or avoidance. If you have any questions about your eligibility please reach out to [email protected].
